Dear Father,<\/p>\n
I guess I need to get back on the saddle, as they say.\u00a0 This is my first weekend working with Andrew since I went back Home.\u00a0 The assignments have been pleasant but it was awkward.\u00a0 I feel like the progress we made was washed away.\u00a0 It’s nothing he said or did.\u00a0 And I don’t think he’s angry with me.\u00a0 I feel like I’ve disappointed him and You. \u00a0 I wanted to be perfect.\u00a0 I wanted to serve You perfectly and make Andrew proud but I just don’t understand humans.\u00a0 Sure, most of them have been nice.\u00a0 But how does one make sense of someone taking the life of another person?\u00a0 I’m not sure I belong down here.\u00a0 Yet I know You are always right in everything You do.\u00a0 I’m so confused.<\/p>\n
Andrew’s friends have been very kind to me since I came back.\u00a0 However, I can tell they’re wary.\u00a0 They think I’m going to hurt their friend.\u00a0 The worst part is, I think I have.\u00a0 As much as I want to do Your will, I think Andrew’s even more set on it.\u00a0 I tried to tell him it wasn’t his fault that I struggled so with what we saw.\u00a0 I’m not sure he believed me.\u00a0 He blames himself for not being able to take my pain away.\u00a0 He is so good, so sensitive.\u00a0 I think maybe the hardest part of that assignment was seeing the tears well in his eyes when it started.\u00a0 He said he’d never met that man who was killed but he seemed to love him.\u00a0 I think that’s what I most want to learn from him: how to love them even without knowing them.\u00a0 And how to love them when they are known, foibles and all.\u00a0 But to do that, I need to stick with our assignments.\u00a0 I won’t ask to take any more breaks.\u00a0 I promise.<\/p>\n
I think I’m going to see if Andrew’s free for dinner.\u00a0 A talk would be good, I think.<\/p>\n
